Obamacare: Best chance to defeat the left –– for good

obamacare-420x350Well, it’s finally happened. We have reached the point where it has become so evident that President Barack Hussein Obama is just this side of evil incarnate and that his administration and radical leftists in Congress are constitutional criminals that those who continue to support them and their policies are either ideologically kindred (and thus, enemies of the republic), or so pitifully dim that they may not merit rescue from a burning building. No … I think I’ll save that dog over there; at least he may wind up being of benefit to humankind someday …

Thus, I believe that these supporters – whether politicos, press, or rank-and-file voters – have forfeited the right to be taken in any way seriously.

The ongoing controversy relative to the Obamacare rollout provided another recent object lesson in this vein. The president’s attempt to blame health insurance companies for soaking customers in direct response to regulations enacted in keeping with his health-care law is not only beyond craven, but presumes an almost incomprehensible level of stupidity on the part of American consumers.

The people to whom I’ve referred in recent weeks as those who are waking up but not yet sure what they’re waking up to are the ones it is now our responsibly to reach. The catalyst for their current discomfort is of course the “sticker shock” they are experiencing – or will shortly experience – as a result of their health insurance policies being canceled and their premiums skyrocketing due to Obamacare. Despite their profound vexation, these individuals are still potentially susceptible to the aforementioned spin being advanced by the administration, Democrats and the press.

Obama’s thugs and the left’s projection

obama_police_state1On Oct. 25, the Washington Times reported that on Aug. 6, Maryland State Police and federal agents used a search warrant in an unrelated criminal investigation to seize the private files of Audrey Hudson, a former investigative journalist for the Washington Times. Earlier, Hudson had exposed problems in the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Air Marshals Service.

Arriving at 4:30 a.m. in full body armor, agents confiscated several small arms during the raid, although no charges were filed in connection with them. These were seized pursuant to a warrant issued for unregistered firearms supposedly belonging to Hudson’s husband, although he was not charged with a crime. The Washington Times is in the process of preparing legal action against the government.

While this raid was obviously a blatant violation of the First and Fourth Amendments as applied to a free press and unlawful search and seizure respectively, the Times also pointed out that this action raises concerns over one of the seizing agencies having been a target of the reporter’s investigations. Ms. Hudson said that the identities of some of her confidential sources were now in the very hands of those people from whom she was attempting to protect said sources.

All of this is but more escalation in the process of the Obama administration exercising increasingly more tyrannical measures. In addition to illegally neutralizing a threat, they sent a message to journalists and their potential sources alike: There is no longer any safety, protection, nor expectation of privacy under the law for members of the press, their confidential informants, or government whistleblowers.

No checks, No Balance

blind_justiceThis week I had a chat, as it were, with a prominent pundit with whom every reader is probably familiar. Although this person is unabashedly liberal, I was still somewhat mortified at how far he was still willing to go in his defense of the Obama administration in light of recent developments.

While some liberals have come to acknowledge that the new health-care program (Obamacare) rollout has been a multi-craft commercial airliner disaster, the president has engaged in overreach with regard to his foreign policy, and that his economic policy is at least wanting, this fellow had an excuse – or a deluded interpretation – for absolutely everything: President Obama’s poll numbers are great, Americans think Sen. Ted Cruz is a fool, and the tea party is on its way out.

In the foreground, of course we have the disastrous Obamacare rollout, which is not only a technical clusterbungle, but it has given rise to rude awakenings with regard to lost coverage and fiscal impact – and we haven’t even gotten into the neutralization of personal liberties therein that will take hold incrementally.

We have Obama’s abject tyranny during the recent government shutdown, which infringed upon the rights of so many that I am astounded it did not result in at least a few deaths stemming from authorities’ reactions to “overzealous” civil disobedience.

The president is in violation of Article III, section 3, clause 1, of the U.S. Constitution; this clearly states that the giving of aid and comfort to the enemy is a treasonable offense. With a wave of his hand, Obama waived that law and is now supplying weapons to al-Qaida and Muslim Brotherhood jihadists in Syria anyway. Then there’s the host of unconstitutional executive orders and under-reported crimes about which Congress remains mute.

We the People … are winning

vetmarch101313aIt is both surprising and gratifying that some of America’s brave patriots are finally getting their due in terms of recognition and positive publicity of late. While most major media outlets are not likely to counter the Obama narrative on anything until public executions have begun (and perhaps not even then), some that had been slow to cover the truckers’ Ride for the Constitution and the veteran’s protests this past weekend are now representing these as part of a movement among everyday Americans to resist our tyrannical president, his co-conspirators and entrenched progressive elites in our government.

And high time, too, I would say.

Over the last few weeks in print and on my streaming radio show, I’ve articulated my sentiment that it is past the time millions of Americans should have swarmed the Capitol and the White House, demanding the resignation of the president, his Cabinet, and every representative and senator in Congress, à la Tahrir Square in Egypt when Muslim Brotherhood thug Mohamed Morsi was ousted earlier this year.

Granted that much of this will sound preposterous and even seditious to many Americans, but the fact is such persons simply aren’t operating with sufficient information – sort of like the intoxicant aboard the Titanic who didn’t realize the ship was sinking until it was perpendicular to the ocean surface. This criminal administration has the darkest of designs on the nation and its people, and we have every right and the duty at this point to resist it. The attendant necessity to purge the government at large of communists and socialist elites, both Democrat and Republican, would be the second order of business.

Obama guilty of treason?

obama_treason1Providing aid and comfort to the enemy in wartime, whomever commits such an act, is a treasonable offense. When one gets past the nuances of what constitutes aid, wartime and who qualifies as the enemy, having established that such an act has been perpetrated, the individual or individuals so accused will find themselves in a whole lot of trouble. In most countries, including the United States of America, there remain provisions for the execution of those convicted of treason.

On Sept. 10, President Obama addressed the nation on the subject of executing a military strike against the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The pretext for this is the administration’s contention that Assad employed the chemical gas sarin in an attack near Damascus on Aug. 21. The attack allegedly killed over 1,400 people.

The most ironic, audacious and disgusting aspect of Obama’s proposal is that it would directly benefit the terrorist organizations that attacked America on Sept. 11, 2001, and that he made this televised appeal on the eve of the 12th anniversary of those attacks. It is also the first anniversary of the attack on the American mission in Benghazi, Libya, which killed four Americans and which has Obama’s bloody fingerprints all over it.

Last week in this space, I analyzed Obama’s haste in this desire to go into Syria. Against the will and advice of our closest allies, the will of the American people and with the risk of unduly agitating Syria’s allies (most notably China and Russia), the president has displayed an almost obsessive eagerness in executing this attack.

Why the haste in hitting Syria?

syrian-chemical-weaponsAs I mentioned on my streaming news show (“FULL-CONTACT With Erik Rush LIVE!”) earlier this week, the political landscape is looking more surreal every day. Like a cross between a low-budget science fiction film and the cartoonist’s conception of a bad acid trip, the incongruity between the information advanced by politicos and the press and the reality before us evokes a cognitive dissonance that truly boggles the mind. Even seasoned analysts are expressing almost universal confusion.

Lights flashing, bells ringing, rows of people running on elevated causeways, a glass jar of mayonnaise bursts across your face …

What?

Exactly. The imperative for military action against the Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad offered by the Obama administration is apparent to no one, yet the president’s sense of urgency is palpable. When Secretary of State John Kerry spoke before America on Aug. 30 and made the case for pursuing Obama’s “limited” yet risk-laden campaign, he resembled the evil Inner Party operative O’Brien in Orwell’s “1984,” relating with utmost authority information most of us know to be untrue; the underlying message being that we must all come to believe it nonetheless. As pointed out by the New York Times, Kerry used the phrase “we know” 24 times in his attempt to validate the administration’s intelligence on the Syrian government’s alleged massacre of more than 1,400 people with chemical weapons.

Were Chris Stevens and Michael Hastings Assassinated?

stevens_hastings1

A few weeks ago my colleague, journalist Cynthia Farahat broke the story of Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi’s involvement in the attack of our embassy in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012 which resulted in the deaths of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans. A day ago, Morsi’s involvement was confirmed by Libyan intelligence, who contends that Morsi essentially orchestrated the attack.

On June 18, Michael Hastings, the intrepid journalist whose reporting brought down the career of General Stanley McChrystal, died in a fiery and highly suspicious car accident in Los Angeles. On June 24, former U.S. National Coordinator for Security, Infrastructure Protection, and Counter-terrorism Richard Clarke revealed that the fatal crash was “consistent with a car cyber attack.”

We know – although this has not been confirmed by the Obama administration – that the White House was supplying weapons to Syrian insurgents through Libya, a fact that could have had negative repercussions for Obama had it surfaced on the eve of the 2012 election. We also know that Obama is thick as thieves with the radical Muslim Brotherhood, and without Obama, there would have been no “Arab Spring” or Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood having risen to power in Egypt. Discerning evil: Look to forest, not trees

asleep2aThis will appear self-evident to some, but I find it necessary to articulate the imperative that we do not fall into the trap of even considering the entreaties of the president, his administration and other agencies who contend that recently revealed activities of the National Security Agency were restricted to terror-related investigations. “Nobody is listening to your calls,” as President Obama said, is a lie – or a gross misrepresentation, if government officials happen to be relegated to reading transcripts, as opposed to examining the digital media itself.

I would imagine it’s probably about as accurate as “If you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan,” and plays to nothing less than sheer gullibility.

It is also evident that despite “bumps in the road” presented by the Benghazi, Internal Revenue Service, Associated Press, NSA and other scandals and the widespread suspicion they have generated, this administration intends to forge ahead as though none were the wiser. This was punctuated last week when Obama appointed Susan Rice as his new national security adviser, and White House aide Samantha Power as his nomination to replace Rice. As the serial liar in the Benghazi aftermath and a hardened communist respectively, these two women are among the worst representatives for the U.S. interests imaginable, in any venue.

This flagrant rewarding of criminality with a coveted political appointment (in the case of Rice) was also seen by Americans as Obama casting a huge middle finger in our direction.
