When the government fears the people

29 Jan. 08, 2014 05.54“When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.”

– Thomas Jefferson

Given the stunning advances Western society made over the last hundred years both socially and technologically, most Americans grew up with the belief that things would always “turn out for the best” in the long run, and this was a chief underpinning of our worldview. Despite having fought such foes as Adolf Hitler and weathered the prolonged tensions and fears of the Cold War, even these had come to inspiring conclusions. I think that until very recently, few Americans ever considered a fundamental paradigm shift for the worse.

Our positive worldview has been a two-edged sword of sorts. On the one hand, it tempered our resolve and conviction; when you believe you’re going to win, it can go a long way toward manifesting that victory. On the other hand, given such an outlook, one – or a nation – might get lulled into a false sense of security. I believe that this is, in part, precisely what occurred with regard to the American people and the enemies from within against whom we are now engaged.

We believed that given the promise the future and our aggregate potential held, and our ability to contribute to the betterment of those around the globe, who would even want to stand against us?

Those who have a desire to foment or prolong human suffering – that’s who.

Conservative lawmakers’ secret Mideast trip could foreshadow Obama downfall

bachmannkinggohmert1Apparently, there are at least three American lawmakers who have determined to do their jobs, this being to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America. Unlike the craven, egocentric, self-aggrandizing majority of our congressmen and senators, at great personal risk, Michele Bachmann (R-MN), Louie Gohmert (R-TX), and Steve King (R-IA) conducted an off-the-record trip (“mission” might actually be a better description) to the Middle East this past week.

As reported by the Washington Times, the three utilized commercial flights “into high-profile danger zones like Beirut, Cairo and Tripoli,” meeting with top-level officials in the region.

According to The Washington Post, Bachmann, Gohmert, and King met with embassy officials in Tripoli “to receive updates on the Benghazi attack and on the general situation in Libya.” The attack on the compound in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012 has led to a myriad of questions on the part of Congress and the American people, but none of these have been answered satisfactorily by the administration. The ostensible efforts of the State Department to determine what occurred have been perfunctory at best, yet information coming out of Libya, Egypt, and certain independent parties has all but condemned Obama and his State Department, suggesting everything from a cavalier abandonment of the personnel there, to premeditation and complicity in their deaths.

The Domestic Abuse of Lady Liberty

libertyabusedOn Nov. 27, National Public Radio ran a story entitled “Conservative Groups Would Take Hit From New IRS Rules, ” citing that new Internal Revenue Service rules “aimed at clarifying what constitutes political activity for tax-exempt” organizations were likely to affect conservative groups more than their liberal counterparts. This move comes on the heels of the now-infamous scandal in which the IRS illegally targeted conservative nonprofits during the 2012 election cycle.

While the actions of the IRS in 2012 are still being spun by President Obama as a “screw up” (his words), even the establishment press acknowledges that it was an organized, deliberate effort that came from the top down. It is also widely accepted among conservatives that these policies were intended to stultify the political activity of conservatives in their efforts, which it did succeed in doing.

As the reader may also recall, Lois Lerner, the former senior IRS official at the center of the decision to target tea-party groups for onerous tax scrutiny, personally and retroactively green-lighted a 501(c)3 application for Malik Obama, the president’s half-brother (if one buys the narrative of his origins), a bundler for the Muslim Brotherhood. This despite the fact that Obama’s organization had been operating in violation of the law over the previous two years.

So how is it that the administration has the gall to promulgate yet more burdensome IRS regulation of nonprofits that is likely to affect principally conservative groups with the body of the last IRS scandal not yet cold?

The Desperate, Lying Left

The Desperate, Lying Left

insanityFormer Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell calls Obamacare “manna from heaven” during a segment on Al Sharpton’s MSNBC crap-tacular. Sharpton himself invokes the recently-departed Nelson Mandela to legitimize the idea that President Obama is fighting “tougher opposition” than Mandela did. Race-baiter Michael Eric Dyson likewise invokes Mandela to legitimize raising the minimum wage as administration-coordinated communist agitators demand. Obama declares to his cabin boy-in-waiting Chris Matthews during an interview that Republicans are to blame for the problem with the Obamacare rollout – right after claiming that casting blame is not part of his “management style.” New York Times columnist Paul Krugman follows suit, absolving Obama of any responsibility for anything untoward that has occurred during his abysmal tenure as President.

You can’t make this stuff up. In the Obama-Matthews interview (if you could call it that), Matthews openly indicts Republicans for trying to “make it difficult for minority people to vote,” and Obama agrees, thereby adding fuel to the fires of racialism that he has so effectively stoked over the past five years.

I suppose we should be grateful, because this wanton, sloppy, shameless, outrageous, foray into Unicornland on the part of the left (whether Obama, the press, or their pants-pissing idiot followers) is indicative of their terror and desperation. They know that over the past few short weeks, millions of Americans suddenly got Obama’s number, and are now more critically examining all of the President’s words.

And they aren’t believing them.

They now know that Barack Obama is a serial liar, and many are beginning to see the bigger picture – that the entire political framework within which he operates is a lie. Worse yet, they are beginning to see that the common denominator is the American people taking it in the shorts.

This has led to the almost laughable excursion into the most blatant lies and fabrications to which Americans have ever been exposed. Like the maniac who peels off his clothes and dashes off into the night shrieking, his last shred of sanity having deserted him, the wild abandon of the calumnies, allegations, and outright fantasies being put forth are the signs of those who have nothing left to say, let alone anything that makes sense.

Only those possessing the dimmest, flickering intellect will fall for this stuff; they’ll be the ones deriding me for writing this, and you for agreeing.

Quite sad, really.

Is that the sound of a constitutional resurgence?

resurgencePeople who know me but who are in other lines of work often comment about how the current political landscape must provide such a wealth of material with regard to political, social, and cultural analysis. At times I find it a bit strange; it’s almost as though there’s a tinge of envy to it, like I’m an athlete who gets called in to every game, while they get to sit on the bench.

Sometimes I wish that this was not the case, because the fact that there is so much to address is indicative of the dire straits through which America is currently passing. What truly frustrates is the fact that a lot of the passengers on this proverbial ocean liner are wholly oblivious to the icebergs littering our path, and to the slavering, smelly mutineers attempting to intentionally run the ship into them.

Lest I digress entirely: The plethora of grave material, this fodder for my commentary efforts, is also providing the public at large with at least some of the data they need to determine that we are indeed in grave danger. Having made this determination, we shall be able to welcome them – or some of them, at least – to the table with the solution-oriented people.

In the recent past, too few perceived the symptoms of the disease. Now that they are experiencing pain and discomfort, they’re palpitating the affected area to see what might be the matter. Such things as the bevy of political scandals involving the Obama administration, the implosion of the “democratic” Arab Spring, and the sluggish economic recovery provided more latent symptoms. The acute symptoms came about through the NSA domestic spying scandal, Obama’s dictatorial measures during the partial government shutdown and finally, the revelation of his grand deception with regard to Obamacare.

Obama is a dangerous, psychopathic dictator – Period

hopeandchange2I agree with the last statement in the Nov. 26 editorial in Investor’s Business Daily, “Terrorist Ayers Confesses Sharing Obama’s ‘Dreams,’ in which the publication states that “It’s high time the national media started asking hard questions” with regard to whether America elected “a fiction to the White House,” and were we “victims of an elaborate con.”

The editorial describes how Obama cohort and unrepentant domestic terrorist bomber Bill Ayers has thrice admitted to having penned Obama’s “autobiographical” compendium of lies, Dreams From My Father. Leaving aside the fact that even Obama’s true parentage has yet to be determined, I find the inconsistencies cited in the editorial which speak to ethical questions pertaining to the book’s genesis and representation to the public troubling. Admittedly, misrepresenting a ghost written book is analogous to jaywalking when compared to orchestrating an EMP attack on one’s own country and murdering millions in order to coalesce political power and bring about the hundred year-long wet dream of American Marxists, but it is nevertheless a good place to start for those Americans who have yet to become aware of this creature’s duplicity and incomprehensibly malevolent designs.

In relating those designs to the American people (as opposed to continuing to act as collaborators in his crimes), the shady origins of Dreams might also be a good place for the press to start. They might then move on to the entirely synthetic story of his past, which contains so many inconsistencies and changes in the narrative itself that Obama ought not have been electable as dog catcher. Who says they have to lead with Obama’s birth certificate having been proven to be a fraudulent device?

As this counterfeit American president continues to attempt to defray suspicion and conceal his treason and lies, I intend to continue to expound upon that treason and those lies. I will also continue to assert that those in government and in the press who have failed to reveal Obama for what he is – considering his actions, the evidence of history, and the damning evidence against Obama which is readily available – richly deserve to share in whatever penalties are meted out to traitors and their enablers. I will continue to do this despite the risks and pathetic Alinskyite Marxist ridicule of those whom I pray one day occupy prison cells on the same block as the man representing himself as Barack Hussein Obama.

A “Grim” Fairy Tale

jimgarrow1

by Dr. Jim Garrow

Legend has it that the President works for “We the People”, but that only exists in a Republic not run by thugs and thieves and we all know that the reality is that Bathhouse Barry works diligently for the Saudis and George Soros or whoever puts the words on his teleprompter screen. I guess that Bathhouse Barry forgot about the Saudi money that set him up in the beginning, got him his degrees, his apartment, his Paki bed-buddy, and ultimately his protector Valerie Jarrett and Dave (the hammer) Axelrod.

That of course led to victories in Illinois and then for the Senate and his brief (“I’m present, count me!”) fling with doing nothing on the public dole. And then finally in the treatise on how to live large while never working, mere pontification being enough, we have the march to the White House, Obama held aloft by the magic of Oprah Winfrey, Revs Warren and White, and every commie pinko who could get their hand around the throat of the magic hen laying those golden eggs. And Barack and Michelle and Bathhouse Barry’s boy buddies lived happily ever after or at least until the American people discovered they’d been conned, and went promptly back to sleep, dreaming of hope and change.

Obama guilty of treason?

obama_treason1Providing aid and comfort to the enemy in wartime, whomever commits such an act, is a treasonable offense. When one gets past the nuances of what constitutes aid, wartime and who qualifies as the enemy, having established that such an act has been perpetrated, the individual or individuals so accused will find themselves in a whole lot of trouble. In most countries, including the United States of America, there remain provisions for the execution of those convicted of treason.

On Sept. 10, President Obama addressed the nation on the subject of executing a military strike against the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The pretext for this is the administration’s contention that Assad employed the chemical gas sarin in an attack near Damascus on Aug. 21. The attack allegedly killed over 1,400 people.

The most ironic, audacious and disgusting aspect of Obama’s proposal is that it would directly benefit the terrorist organizations that attacked America on Sept. 11, 2001, and that he made this televised appeal on the eve of the 12th anniversary of those attacks. It is also the first anniversary of the attack on the American mission in Benghazi, Libya, which killed four Americans and which has Obama’s bloody fingerprints all over it.

Last week in this space, I analyzed Obama’s haste in this desire to go into Syria. Against the will and advice of our closest allies, the will of the American people and with the risk of unduly agitating Syria’s allies (most notably China and Russia), the president has displayed an almost obsessive eagerness in executing this attack.

What did the Benghazi survivors see?

benghazi2Now that Rep. Frank Wolf, R-Va., has revealed that survivors of last year’s deadly attack in Benghazi, Libya, were compelled to sign non-disclosure agreements that prevent them from talking about the attack, the questions are clear: What did the survivors see, and what was the Obama administration’s imperative for silencing them? The answers to the first question may, of course, provide answers to the second.

The evasion, equivocation and outright deceptions proffered by the administration on Benghazi thus far have piqued the suspicions of some and convicted the administration in the eyes of others. Myriad scenarios have been entertained in the minds of the curious and conspiracy theorists alike, but the fact is that the administration, by its actions, has inspired all of these.

So let’s factor this new information into that with which we are already familiar – limited though it may be – and see what shakes out.

There was no doubt a wide assortment of personnel on the ground at the Benghazi compound on the night of Sept. 11, 2012. In addition to military and intelligence assets, such facilities require clerical, information technology, facilities, transportation and even janitorial support personnel. Many of these probably did not have very high security clearance, but given their proximity, they would observe day-to-day occurrences at the compound and would necessarily have a handle on everything that transpired, even if from a casual perspective.
